What We Do

Restore Your Chimney's Structural Integrity

Kansas weather takes a toll on masonry. Freeze-thaw cycles, wind-driven rain, and years of heat stress can cause mortar joints to crumble, bricks to crack, and chimney crowns to deteriorate. Left unaddressed, small masonry problems become big structural failures.

At Home Safe Hearth & Chimney, we've been repairing and restoring chimney masonry for over 44 years. We assess the full scope of the damage, explain exactly what's needed, and restore your chimney to safe, solid condition.

Common Questions

Masonry Repair FAQ

What are the signs my chimney needs masonry repair?
Look for crumbling mortar joints, cracked or spalling bricks, white staining (efflorescence), a leaning chimney, or pieces of mortar falling into the firebox. Any of these indicate masonry damage that should be addressed before it worsens.
What is tuckpointing?
Tuckpointing is the process of removing deteriorated mortar from between bricks and replacing it with fresh mortar. It restores structural integrity, prevents water penetration, and extends the life of your chimney by decades when done properly.
Can you rebuild a chimney crown?
Yes. A damaged crown allows water into your chimney structure, which causes accelerating deterioration through freeze-thaw cycles. We remove the old crown and pour a new one with a proper overhang and drip edge to protect the masonry below.

What Our Customers Say

This company was amazing to work with. We had a chimney fire that resulted in a whole new fireplace needing to be built. Bart and his crew worked with us and our insurance company to get the job done! We were very impressed with the focus on the details and making sure the job was not only done but done correctly.
